Forfeits

Forfeits happen.

Even after your team checks their availability.

Even after you submit and get your requested bye weekends, or timing of games.

This is why SFYS allows for 3 guest players on any game.

7v7 - minimum of 5 required to play - you just need 2 of the team players to be available (remember, we have an expanded roster of 15!).

9v9 and 11v11 - minimum of 7 required - you just meed 4 of the team players available (Remember, we have an expanded roster of 17!).

A large amount of games are forfeits because of the coach.

Their availability and other conflicts.

SFYS runs multiple coaching education classes to provide opportunities for your team to have more than one coach. Even a parent who hates soccer can get qualified during the preseason to help you avoid the forfeit fee! 

You can also get a guest coach. Any SFYS approved coach can cover the game - the coaches on the game before your game, and even your opponent, if they have two coaches, can coach the team for you.

Weird huh. But you can give them a line up, a subbing plan, some key words and goals you have been working on. They'll do a great job for you and your team.

Importantly, you won't forfeit. And the guest coach won't turn your players into 'bad soccer players' and the players won't 'melt' because someone new is coaching them. This we promise.

Lastly, because we love when games are played. If your situaiton is outside of the week of the game (IE, the game is 8 days away) you can attempt to reschedule the game. Here is the form to do that.
