Spring Season 2024 Opening Weekend Coach Email

Hello everyone,

We’re so excited to kick off the Spring season this weekend! You were all included on an email that went to all families earlier today–check that out (click here to see it in your browser) for some general notes including weather and field status; this one's for coaches and managers to help make sure everything goes smoothly this weekend.

Coaches: Here’s how to not forfeit any SFYS game:

• Update your jersey numbers in SQWAD.

• Print the game day photo roster for each game.

• Have at least one valid, rostered coach at the game.

• We’ve reached out directly if you don't currently have any cleared coaches and are in danger of forfeiting. If you have a few coaches on the roster, make sure at least one of the people who shows up on game day is valid!

• Have the game day minimum number of players. Have no more than the maximum.

• Short of players? Need a guest player? Looking for extra playing time?

• Submit your score after the game

• Even after all of that, thinking of forfeiting? Read this first.

Waiting on a transfer? We’re working to get caught up with a long queue that should be cleared by Friday, but if anything is still pending when you go to print your roster, please use the guest play feature to make sure everyone’s listed (here’s how).

Not sure how to tell who’s cleared to play? Always refer to the printed game day roster over what you’re seeing online–that’s what the referees will be using during check in. Click here for a post with some examples and screenshots of what to look for.

Waiting on our staff to review something?

• Players: we’re checking daily, no guarantees for anything uploaded after 12PM on Friday

• Coaches: we’ve reviewed all pending requirements as of noon today. If you think we missed something, let us know after you check your email for reminders from info@sfyouthsoccer.com between February 21st and 28th–we reached out directly to everyone who registered by February 14th.

• Remember–we’re not doing any last minute roster clearance or troubleshooting over the weekend! This is your final reminder to check your roster and let us know if there’s anything you’d like us to take a look at before the weekend
