Fall Registration and Your Player's Soccer Journey
Looking ahead to the 2026-27 Seasons
With Fall 2026 registration just a month away, it’s time to look ahead. Whether your team plans to stay together or your player is eyeing a competitive club, SFYS provides opportunities for every athlete from 2nd through 12th grade. We encourage you to start those family conversations now to see who is returning to the pitch this fall.
For players seeking a more intensive environment - including professional coaching and increased training - competitive club tryouts are set for May 2nd and 3rd. To ensure every player can find their best fit, SFYS will not host Premier division games that weekend, allowing athletes to attend tryouts without conflicting with their current team commitments.
Remember, you always have a choice in how you participate. If your team isn’t returning, your player doesn’t have to stop playing; notify us via our Player Connection so we can help find a new home for your player. Conversely, if you are worried about meeting roster minimums, please reach out to facilitate a team merge. This process has been a successful league staple for over 20 years, especially for those teams and players transitioning into middle school. We recommend holding post-game meetings with other teams now to discuss potential fits.
Stay on track by noting that SFYS Team Registration opens May 4th at 5:00 PM, with final rosters due to SFRPD by May 20th. For navigating the system, join our virtual Support Sessions on April 19th (New Teams), April 23rd (Returning), or April 30th (All). Our league grows with your athlete all the way through our thriving Varsity high school division - a unique community for lifelong players, former club athletes, and newcomers alike.
Finally, we want to thank the volunteer coaches who are the backbone of this league. Your commitment keeps soccer accessible and kids active, and SFYS is here to support you with related resources. Please reach out and let us know what you need! We truly appreciate the parents and coaches keeping kids in the game.
