Gearing up for the Fall 2025 season

Helpful info in advance of playing in the fall

This post has information for parents/caregivers and coaches/team admins.

We don't like overwhelming your inboxes, but do want to make sure to keep you updated about Fall 2025 play in SFYS. We'll be posting pertinent information here throughout the summer, updating as needed. Keep an eye on this space, and also in our monthly newsletters, to help your team be fully ready for the Fall season.

  • You can keep adding players to your roster throughout the summer and even during the Fall season. Just make sure to maintain your roster minimum at all times.
  • Premier teams: we will have Fall playoffs so keep your calendars open. Playoffs are tentatively scheduled for the first 3 weekends in November.
  • We are using a new (to us) platform called Ankored to track and safely store all of our compliance data. This means player birth date documents AND coach licensing requirements. In the coming weeks, parents and team admins alike may receive emails from us and/or Ankored when documents are needed. We'll be sure to give you instructions on how to upload those!
  • If your team does not yet have a STAR (Specially Trained Assistant Referee), please sign up to get trained (training is being offered on 8/17, 8/24 and 8/30 from 9:00 am - noon. Registration is required.). Each team that plays in SFYS is required to have one trained STAR on the team. Find more information here.
  • If you didn't have a STAR when you submitted your Intent to Play form, but now you have one, you can declare that using this form.
  • Player, Coach and Team Admin roster photos are used by the referee as a way to identify you on game day. Note that player photos can only be uploaded by a parent or guardian (not a coach or team admin). Photo requirements:
    • Must be front-facing
    • No hats/caps, sunglasses or face paint
    • Hoods must be down 
    • Please crop from top of head to shoulders
    • Parents/caregivers, here's how to upload your player photo:
      • Log in at sfyouthsoccer.com
      • Go to your family page (drop down menu in upper right corner)
      • Click edit next to your your child's name
      • Click +Upload Photo
      • Click Update Account at the bottom of the page or it won't get saved!

Update June 2025
