What Are We Doing Here?
There's a growing movement to make youth sports more positive
What Are We Really Doing Here?
Are we creating soccer for kids… or kids for soccer?
Trust. Communication. Anger management. Stress. Transparency. Education. Parent meetings.
What do all of these have in common?
Answer: Youth soccer
I recently listened to a powerful podcast featuring Skye Eddy, founder of The Sideline Project and the Soccer Parenting Association. She shared how coaches and parents often work in silos, how parents aren’t given the tools to be the best soccer supporters they can be, and how we can all deepen our understanding of what it means to truly support youth in sport.
If you are interested in finding some research-driven, practical resources for parents, coaches, and players, explore the Soccer Parent Resource Center. Your free membership, courtesy of SF Youth Soccer, starts here.
The more we learn, the more we can create a positive, healthy soccer culture — one that keeps kids loving the game and playing longer.

Did you know that SF Youth Soccer is a 2024 Project Play Champion, with work that aligns with the Children’s Bill of Rights in Sports? We proudly offer recreational soccer opportunities for youth from 2nd through 12th grade, and we are deeply committed to supporting players, families, coaches, and referees.
Our mission is simple: keep kids at the heart of every decision, inspire our community to embrace a Player First mindset, and help shape the leaders of tomorrow—on and off the field.
