2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Join us and spread the word to your community
We're thrilled to share some important updates from our AGM on February 11, 2026.
First, we extend our deepest gratitude to our departing board members, Lily Kwan and Eloisa Tejero. Their dedication, insights, and tireless efforts have been invaluable to our mission, and we are incredibly thankful for their service.
Thank you to the 80 voters who joined us at the AGM in order to reach quorum (57). You can find our slide deck here.
We are also excited to announce the results of our recent board elections! Kelly, Tim, Stephen, Jake and Nicole are returning to serve on the board, with their terms officially beginning at our first board meeting in March. We look forward to their renewed perspectives and contributions as we continue to grow and serve our community.
During our discussions, we focused on several key areas aimed at enhancing the experience for our players, always with their holistic development at the forefront.
A key topic was the future of our middle school division. Based on your feedback, we plan to bring back the option of 11v11 play to support player development and the competitive experience. Our earlier shift to 9v9 was driven by roster challenges that sometimes led to forfeits or player fatigue, with the goal of ensuring more consistent play and increased touches on the ball. That said, we are committed to making 11v11 work for teams who prefer it.
We also discussed our approach to game rules, specifically the implementation of a positive play penalty kick policy versus a traditional mercy rule. Our priority is to foster a positive, developmental environment where every player has the opportunity to learn and grow, even in challenging game scenarios. We believe that a positive play penalty kick policy, which encourages continued engagement and effort, aligns better with our player-first philosophy than a mercy rule that can sometimes disengage players. We will be sharing more details on this policy at the upcoming pre-season Coach meeting on 2/25/26 (Zoom link here).
Finally, we are excited to announce that the search for our new Executive Director will officially commence in the Spring. This is a crucial step for our organization, and we are committed to finding a leader who shares our vision and passion for serving our community and putting our players first.
We are deeply committed to continually improving our programs and services. Our players are at the heart of everything we do, and their holistic development – on and off the field – is our guiding principle. We encourage you to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to serve you better.
Thank you!
